In most cases a one goal win is as good as a shutout. But the skaters can seldom make a living by giving up nearly 4 dozen SOG.

So many contributors! Haggerty, Archibald, Warsofsky exemplify the type of players the organization scours for. As do (really) all of the WBS players on the ice tonight. Congrats to Aston-Reese and Josephs' first goal will doubtless come soon.

Aside from the great start that won the game for them, it should be noted that they had to maintain a constant scrap to hold onto the win. Shot production dropped off in the second and (with mounting trips to the box) knowledgeable fans' nerves were on edge. Thus the uptick in SOG over a 10 minute stretch of the third should not be overlooked. The lads put up 9 SOG in that ten minutes, effectively negating offensive zone time for the P-Bruins. That was almost equal to the elusive insurance goal.

Lots of news here. First the sad news: It's a pity that Bengtsson's entire season has been ruined by the bite of a stinking tick. And my daughter and I are sorry to see Steve Oleksy leave. We wish him all the best!

I agree with Archy -- this was a Complete game. Not flawless but complete. A thing to behold. We were wondering why Stolarz wasn't pulled.

i thought the entire team skated with a lot of energy all night, solid effort all around. a sold out crowd and a thumping of Hershey, it doesn't get much better than that.

Kostopoulos' goal was fun to watch. I believe he was parallel to the ice and about a foot in the air when he batted the puck in.

It's really too bad that Sestito couldn't stay in the game and get a real hat trick. Congrats to the Penguins on another win. I love looking at the AHL website and seeing the Pens with the highest winning percentage in the entire league. Whooo!

didn't seem particularly terrible, he slashed the guy for sure, but it was right in front of the ref, so it got called. hard to believe that Pouliot got his very first point of the year last nite after all the games he has played. i think he's been rattled by the back and forth to P-burgh.
